I have been struggling with how to begin this post. It has been quite some time since I last posted to this blog (over two years) and it has been quite the challenge to figure out the best way to start up again. After some months of contemplating whether to get back in the business of blogging (and I use the word ‘business’ in a very broad sense since I am no way earning any income from this little blog of mine, yet), I knew the first of the year would be the best time since it would naturally provide me with a topic – my focus for this upcoming year. But, how do you eloquently strike up a conversation with someone after radio silence for two years?
I suppose you start by saying hello.
I won’t bore you with the details of my life over the last two years. Suffice it to say it was full of typical “life” stuff – carpools, soccer tournaments, family trips, going to the gym and some sitting around and doing not much of anything. I realized a few months back that I really missed blogging and after not being able to shake the desire to get back to it (despite much thought and despite my concern about having enough time to devote to it), I decided to go for it. After all, one thing I’ve learned about myself is that I have an internal need to create things. Whether that is crocheting a blanket, making my signature body butter or writing something, I am my best self when I set aside time to create.
I am so excited about all of the plans that I have for this blog and personal projects that I have on tap for 2016 (most of which I will write about on this blog). I literally could go on and on about the ideas I have, what I want to accomplish and the personal development endeavors I will be exploring (spoiler alert: a lot of these have to do with focusing on habits). But alas, I don’t want to overwhelm you. It has been over two years since we last spoke.
So, for today, I really just wanted to write to say “Hello”.
Looking forward to continuing the conversation in 2016!
